Eyewear Testing Service

QC Tailored for the Eyewear Industry

Eyewear is a broad category that includes everything from spectacles to performance eye protectors. Depending on the type and intended purpose, different quality standards may apply to different eyewear, but durability and product safety remain important considerations across the board.

AI provides performance and lab testing for all categories of eyewear, eye protection, and ophthalmic products, including:

Ophthalmic Optics:
  • Optical lenses
  • Spectacle frames
  • Ready-to-wear readers
  • Spectacles with mounted lenses
  • Coated ophthalmic lenses
  • Safety spectacles with ophthalmic lenses

Personal Protection Equipment:
  • Sunglasses with sun glare filters
  • Ski goggles and performance eyeglasses
  • Swimming goggles
  • Motor-cycle and snow-mobile goggles
  • Protective filters
  • Eye and face-protectors

OQ provides a wide range of performance tests and lab tests for all types of eyewear, including prescription glasses, reading spectacles, fashion eyewear (tinted and clear), sunglasses, ski and safety goggles, and more. We can help you ensure that your product meets the quality and safety requirements of your destination market, as well as all applicable international standards.

We provide a two-tier process for quality assurance of your eyewear. Product Inspections in the factory are used to check your product's performance characteristics, while Lab Testing in our HOKLAS certified laboratory subjects frames and lenses to a variety of mechanical and optical tests.

Dedicated Eyewear Testing Labs and Inspector Resources

With our dedicated inspector resources and a HOKLAS accredited testing lab, we offer the largest available range of tests and QA services for eyewear. Our laboratory is certified to test eyewear to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard for Eyewear and Ophthalmic Products, and to issue reports with HOKLAS and ILAC endorsement.

AI's test reports for eyewear are recognized by the British Standards Institution and SAI Global for CE Certification (Europe) and Benchmark Product Certification (Australia).
